SUSANNE WARE

SUSANNE WARE

TRAINER (BS, NASM-CPT, CNS, CF-L1)

As a high school athlete in Florida, Susanne learned early on the relationship between cross training and performance. Weight lifting and running became staples in her training regime as a player on the women’s soccer team at Wingate University. As she continued to integrate a variety of activities into her own personal fitness program and saw her conditioning soar, it increased her enthusiasm for the art of keeping fit.

Susanne has a passion for helping others. She believes it’s hard from some individuals to motivate, and then commit, to working out. However, working with a personal trainer can lead to getting results both physically and mentally. Plus, getting a good report from a doctor is a great motivator too!

His passion for fitness began through his love of sports and developed as a varsity athlete in track and field. His approach to fitness emphasizes age-appropriate programming with a specific focus given to cardiovascular and strength training in combination with balance and flexibility training. He establishes long-term client interactions with the goal of integrating exercise and optimal wellness into the demands of daily life.

JOSH BRIGHAM

JOSH BRIGHAM

Level 1 & 2 Certified Foundation Training Instructor, Certified FRC Mobility Specialist

Josh has quite a backstory, having his first back surgery at age 31 to fix a ruptured disc that had left his right arm partially paralyzed. Josh had also learned that he had a 90% degeneration of one of the discs in his spine, which would then lead to even more surgical intervention. He had never had any significant injuries or trauma, and was left with no answer as to why these problems were occurring. After experiencing chronic and debilitating pain, Josh looked into all sorts of solutions; physical therapy, zero gravity chairs, inversion tables, you name it. Finally, he discovered Foundation Training, which taught him that his problems were a result of a lifetime of poor posture and unhealthy movement patterns. FT provided Josh with significant relief, allowing him to do all the activities he thought he would never do again, such as running and hiking. Josh has spent the past 7 years studying FT and has received the highest certification possible. Josh is dedicated to helping others be free from chronic pain and live life without limits. He quotes that “whether you need to alleviate pain, increase mobility or enhance athletic performance, Foundation training can help unlock your body’s full potential!”

MIKE ELKINS

MIKE ELKINS

LMBT #2042

Mike moved to Charlotte in 1994 to help open The Southeastern School of Neuromuscular and Massage Therapy. He was the co-owner and the instructor of neuromuscular therapy and functional anatomy through 2005. Mike was also the team massage therapist for the Carolina Panthers from 2002 through 2020. He rejoined the treatment staff for the 2022 season after taking 2021 off.

Mike believes in a straightforward approach when it comes to bodywork. He believes that client education and addressing postural distortions is key. He states that “improved posture leads to enhanced biomechanics/range of motion, decreased compression of joints, nerves and blood vessels, and decreased pain. Increased performance on the athletic field and in the daily activities of life is the result.”

Mike uses a variety of methods to help clients achieve their goals, including neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release, instrument assisted soft tissue therapy, deep tissue massage, and more. He believes that this approach leads to more resilient and adaptive neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems, helping the client move from sympathetic overdrive-fight or flight to parasympathetic-rest, digest, and heal mode.

Asheton Brown

Asheton Brown

Asheton also known as Smasheton has been a part of the fitness and wellness community in Charlotte for the past 10 years. She has a long time background as a swim coach and run coach with some personal training alongside her previously competitive ventures.

She has taken a deep interest in holistic healing and nutrition to help manage her own autoimmune and in 2018 began exploring modalities like reiki and mindset coaching as an add on to her small coaching business. In the last few years she has expanded and added additional certifications for stretch therapy.

Asheton offers traditional stretch and recovery and she also has taken her knowledge and experience to combine all of this into energy work she calls energetic detangling where she physically, emotionally, and energetically helps her clients detangle what’s going on in their body and how those pieces are reflected in their daily lives and patterns.

Brian Carlson

Brian Carlson

Brian’s background as a former athlete sparked his interest in the personal training field. His attention to detail in his own workouts naturally carries over into his coaching style. He prioritizes proper form and technique, ensuring clients not only understand the movements but also develop lasting body awareness and confidence in their training.

Brian began his personal training career in a rehabilitation facility, working with clients transitioning out of physical therapy.
This developed his passion for working with those with limitations in their fitness journey to get them to a place of confidence and comfort with physical activity. He has a broad spectrum of experience from working with those just beginning their fitness journey up to those with a fitness background that are wanting to continue to grow and challenge themselves.

Brian recently relocated from Chicago to Charlotte. Brian stays active in his free time by playing basketball, cycling, lifting, and spending time with his dog, Benny.
